So we were talking one day at dinner at my parents' house how I found that hats and mitts didn't fit my kids when they were first born. The only one that I found didn't slide off their head was the hand-knit one from the hospital. That conversation led me to my next project....please keep in mind that I can only knit in a straight line, so I'm an expert in scarves, scarves, and more scarves! lol. I googled knitting patterns and found that I didn't understand anything...even the ones that said "beginners" and "easy" were beyond me since I didn't know what "purl" meant (I know now that it means to "knit backwards"). So I "winged" it and came up with my own pattern....here's the end results.
I made the pink set first and literally knit in a straight line then stitched up the side and the top. But when I got to the blue set I became a little adventurous and ended up tapering the top so that it closed on it's own. I'm quite proud of myself! Here are close up's of both sets.
I am going to try to make at least a few more sets before AJ gets here!
