Barbados Scrapbook ~ Part 5

Yay!  Halfway done!  Once I finish the first copy then I can move on to reproducing it...times 5!  Yep, by the end of it, there will be a total of 6 copies.  One for my parents-in-law, one for us, and one for each of dh's siblings.  These pages are of my dh's older sister and her family with their parents.

This layout took me forever to come up with but I think it's my favourite so far.  I really like the way the Kiwi Kiss and the Rich Razzleberry look together, too bad SU didn't bring back Kiwi Kiss though.  And I love mounting things on black, it just make the colours pop.  I didn't put a title or journalling yet, and am debating whether or not I am going to (not really sure where I'd put it, perhaps along the top or the bottom?)

Thanks for looking!

ps. sorry for the glare on the pictures, I guess the white background really reflected the light! (this was taken without the flash too!)

Barbados Scrapbook ~ Part 4

So I think I got my scrapbooking mojo back and was able to complete a few more pages...woohoo!  Maybe these will get done before too long afterall.  These pages are of my parents-in-law before we went to dinner.  Aren't they cute?

I used the Schoolbook Serif Numbers and Alphabet sets to stamp the title in Real Red ink.  And the saying is part of the Define Your Life set.  It's the definition of "together" and it reads "You and me, lonely no more. With one another, inseparable.  In harmony, in sync."

Happy Birthday To A Dear Friend

It was my friend Ina's birthday on Friday, but I didn't have a chance to see her.  I thought that I was going to see her the following Monday so I decided not to put her card in the mail, but rather deliver it to her in person.  But unfortunately that didn't work out, so now it is on its way to her via snail mail.  Hopefully she gets it before too long.

Anyways, if you ever have the chance to meet this wonderful woman, you will come to realize what I have, she is the most generous, unselfish, and thoughtful person that you could ever meet.  And lucky ol' me gets to call her a friend.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY INA!

I used a brand new set from the new SU catalogue, Butterfly Prints.  I inked up the butterflies using Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, and Apricot Appeal, then punched them out with the Butterfly Punch.  The 1 1/4" squares were punched out in the same coloured cardstock then mounted on 1 3/8" Basic Gray squares.  I used Barely Banana as my card base, and the DSP was from last year's Sale-A-Bration as was the ribbon.

Java Minute? Coffee Swap

I'm participating in my friend Christyne's swap over on Splitcoaststampers.  It's an all about coffee swap...coffee beans, coffee cups, coffee pots. The challenge is to make a card where the focal point is coffee related.  Here's the card that I came up with:

The image and sentiment are from SU's Font of You set.  I used the direct to rubber technique for the coffee mug image, colouring the mug with my Rose Red marker and the inside of the mug and steam with Chocolate Chip.  I used my Nesties to cut out the image, Chocolate Chip and Rose Red ovals, and my swirly tag.  The sentiment was punched out with SU Word Window punch.  I chose Rose Red for my card base, and the DSP was mounted on Chocolate Chip.  I think the flowers add a nice little touch.  Isn't the sentiment so cute??

Ladies' Nite Out Pillow Box Treats

Tonight I'm going out to dinner at Red Lobster with my friends that I met on Splitcoaststampers!  Woohoo!  I can't wait!!  Tonight's group is to be the biggest group yet!  There were originally 12 of us going but 2 can't make it so there will be 10.  Here are the goodies that I made for everyone:

I made these using the SU Pillow Box Die.  Then I punched out the windows using the Large Oval Punch, stamped it with the "with love" stamp from one of last year's Sale-A-Bration sets called Yummy, adhered some acetate to the back of the windows, closed it up, and added the little white bow.  These boxes perfectly fit 5 Kerr's Fruit candies.

Here's a close up:

Bestest SIL's Birthday Card

We just got back from a 5 day weekend at the cottage.  The weather was AMAZING and we couldn't have been more suprised since the weather doesn't usually co-operate when we plan outdoor functions, outings, trips, etc... Life had just gotten so hectic with "end of school" things and the frenzy to get teachers' gifts completed, planning summer activities, and both my older boys birthdays fall in July so there's invites to get ready before school lets out, that we decided to just get away from it all for a few days and do absolutely nothing but spend quality family time together, and that was exactly what we did.  But now back to reality...before we left and amongst that craziness I did manage to make my wonderful sister in law a birthday card.
